I am in Hawaii (yes, on business) and wont be back until March 6th.  Allison will be running practices while I'm gone.  I guess if I have to work, it could be worse. :)

We play at 8:00 am and should be there by 7:30 and ready to be on the court at 7:40 (at the latest)

Bellevue Bowl Tournament
February 7th
(known to me as a Super Bowl tune-up)...if anybody wants to invite coach & players over for BBQ wings and to watch the game just let me know ;) [i'm not allowed to have wings in my house since the last time i left the bones out and about killed the dog]

anyway... 
We will be playing at Bellevue West High School
1501 Thurston Ave

We are on court 1 and we start at 8:00am.  Doors open at 7:30. 

We'll want to be on the court as quickly as we can (7:40ish).  This way we can get some serving in before the day starts.  We served much tougher at Tuesday's practice so I'd like to see that continue.

Congratulations to Jessica Bird for being named to the PrepVolleyball's Fab 59 Freshman list.  She made the highest honorable mention list (meaning one of the top 120 freshmen in the country)

Jessica Bird, 5-9 OH, Bennington (Nebraska) – A complete player, Bird led Bennington, the fourth-ranked team in Class C1, in digs and serve-receive grade while adding 218 kills, 32 blocks and 32 aces. A hard worker and definite D-I prospect, Bird was named Second Team All Conference, Second Team All Area and Honorable Mention All State.


This marks the fifth Bennington girl in four years to mentioned in PrepVolleyball's list.

Moving forward, we will need to focus on base to defensive movements; serving more agressive, communication, attacking to zones. 

We can beat the team we lost to in the tournament.  In order to do that, we are going to have to take care of the ball and annoy them into making mistakes.  We will win with defense and enough well timed offense.

We get started on this with practices on Tuesday & Thursday!

Eight out of nine at Tuesday's practice.  Its vital that you get to our practices.  We don't have that many so it's important we can get all the reps in we can.  Besides, if you're not at practices, come tournament time you will look like the title of one of my favorite movies...Stand By Me. 

Speaking of tournaments...Nice job at Saturday's tournament.  You definitely showed well.  We will continue to work and improve as the season progresses.  I was pleasantly surprised in every aspect!  I thought the uniforms looked sharp!

Now for the business side of club ball...

As I've explained, I'm willing to work with everybody but I need to hear from you so we can work out a payment plan. 

I need a vote on the April tournament...should we stay or should we go?
It's prom weekend.  That's the downside.  On the upside it would be a great end to what I think will be be a great year with a nice trip so the girls can cut loose and have some fun!
